Joe Stewart & Matt Bales: John Locke Foundation Shaftesbury Society luncheon
Joe Stewart has served as executive director of the N.C. FreeEnterprise Foundation since June 2013. Stewart has worked in government, politics, issue advocacy, and association management for more than 20 years in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. He has worked for the NC Chamber and the Insurance Federation of North Carolina, and je served as chief deputy state treasurer and assistant secretary of the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. Matt Bales is NCFEF's research director. Bales was political direcotr of the N.C. Republican House Caucus. He has served at deputy finance director for Sen. Elizabeth Dole, worked on a winning campaign team for N.C. Rep. Tom Murry, and was political and new media director at Cornerstone Solutions, working with non-profits, issue advocacy, and political campaigns.
