Wahpeton set to retire Ryan Smith's high school number on October 16

The Wahpeton Huskies football team will honor Ryan Smith on Friday, October 16 when they host Devils Lake. Smith's No. 22 high school jersey will be retired at halftime during the game. Smith rushed for 2,135 yards during his junior year and 2,781 yards during his senior season for the Huskies and was named 2009 Class AA senior athlete of the year in North Dakota.  Smith talks about his journey with football from the high school to professional level with Chase Miller and Derek Hanson.  Smith won three FCS National Championships with North Dakota State and played three seasons in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders.   Catch the Jack Michaels Show weekdays from 12-1 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3 FM.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
