It’s only 4 years since Bolton Wanderers were saved and the countdown clock on Sky Sports News was stopped in the 11th hour. To have spent so many years in the Premier League and then go so close to oblivion, it’s great to say that Northampton Town will be travelling to what is now known as the Toughsheet Arena on Saturday for a League One fixture. Bolton were one of the pre season favourites for promotion this year but haven’t quite lived up to that expectation so far. They’ve been humbled at home by both Wigan and Carlisle and lost on the road at Reading. Those defeats give the Cobblers faithful hope that the game on Saturday will be one to remember but Bolton still sit 6th in the League One table, so it will not be an easy tie.
