b'Adam Ticknor www.adamticknor.com\\xa0is one of our best friends and we were happy to sit down with him and record a conversation. Adam is a former US Marine Scout Sniper, who currently works helping people fix their bodies and improve their lives, utilizing body language, body work, fitness, nutrition and sleep, while also continuing to do high level private security work. We focus this conversation around Lauri\'s achilles tendon rupture, and how Adam\'s model for health and wellbeing has been instrumental in Lauri\'s recovery as she choose the non-surgical route to heal her injury. Below are some resources to find more information about some of the topics and people that we discuss.

Also, we were not as successful as Chris Kresser in pulling numbers off the top of our head regarding the potential cost of treating type 2 diabetes in the US, so here is that breakdown from Chris himself, summarized below:

$14,000 per year to treat one person for type 2 diabetes
If said person is diagnosed and begins treatment at age 40 and lives until 85, that\'s 45 years @ $14k, which equals $630,000 for 1 person. Take the CDC\'s findings that 100 million Americans now have prediabetes or diabetes, and you get 63,000,000,000,000 ($63 trillion) just to treat those Americans for diabetes for the remainder of their lives.
