We start Rapid Fire with what we are most looking forward to with Notre Dame's 2023 football season. Other topics include: *Does Notre Dame hiring Gino Guidugli and Joe Rudolph outweigh losing Brian Mason?   *Fill-in the blanks...Notre Dame men’s basketball opens ACC Tournament play tonight against Virginia Tech. It would be BLANK if they win two games to advance to the tournament quarterfinals and BLANK if they win three games to make it to the semifinals Friday night.   *Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles is confident he can get first round draft picks in both 2024 and 2025 in a trade for the Bears No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft. The Colts are one of the teams in desperate need of a franchise quarterback. Would you want your team to give up those picks to move up three spots to the top of the draft?   *The NCAA’s rules committee has recommended the adoption of three rules changes for the upcoming season. The biggest change is a running clock after first downs...with the exception of the last two minutes of each half. Do you Buy or Sell it?  *The SEC is looking at the possibility of playing a 9-game conference schedule with no divisions once Oklahoma and Texas join the conference. If they do that they would play three permanent rivals every year and rotate the other six opponents. Alabama’s three perennial teams would be LSU...Auburn and Tennessee.  Nick Saban isn’t happy with that. He says ”If you play more games I think you have to get the three fixed opponents right. They’re giving us Tennessee, Auburn and LSU. I don’t know how they come to that decision.” Are his complaints Fair or Foul?  *Rich Eisen said on his radio show that he’s heard Tom Brady could un-retire for a second straight year.
