'The World's Biggest Quango': the first five years of NHS England
Following one of the biggest political rows in the history of the NHS, the operation of the National Health Service in England was made statutorily independent five years ago. But a new report by Nicholas Timmins, Senior Fellow at the Institute for Government and The King's Fund, says the legislation hasn’t achieved what its originators intended. At this event, he will explain why he thinks that something distinctly different has happened. The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, responded.
