Stipe Plazibat, a Croatian professional footballer plying his trade for Singapore’s Hougang United, chats to Inside the Beautiful Game.
Born in Split, Croatia, prior to the start of the Yugoslavian war, Stipe’s career has taken him from the youth setup at his beloved Hadjuk Split, where he played alongside and captained national star Ivan Perisic, to Macedonia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and even Scotland before returning to the Lion City.
On the pod, they talk about growing up in war-torn Croatia, lessons learned as a young pro, the difficulties footballers can face abroad, loneliness, the importance of happiness and contentment on performance, life overseas and hopes for the future.
