39: Inside... Troy Townsend, Head of Development, Kick It Out
In this special edition, Inside the Beautiful Game was joined by Troy Townsend, Head of Development at Kick It Out (KIO - kickitout.org).
Troy has been with KIO since 2011 and has been one of the leading voices in the fight for equality in English football ever since. As Head of Development at Football's equality and inclusion organization, he leads on a variety of projects, ranging from the delivery of their education programmes in all English clubs’ academy programmes and events, and through their Raise Your Game initiative.
In light of recent events, prompted by the murder of George Floyd, Troy joined me to discuss the work done by Kick It Out, racism in football and wider society, and whether we find ourselves on the brink of real change.
