Behind OPEN doors: Jay Evensen on the need for a Dixie State name change bill hearing

Published: Feb. 22, 2021, 7:31 p.m.

Deseret News’ columnist Jay Evensen joins Boyd to break down the latest breakdown of the Dixie State renaming drama. While most Utahns say Dixie State shouldn’t change its name and lawmakers grapple with the issue, sources say the Senate has no plans to hold a hearing for the name change bill. Governor Cox says he’d sign it and believes change is necessary for the university's success, as does Boyd. Boyd and Evensen argue the points of the heated debate and the need for a hearing to happen behind OPEN doors.  ‘Inside Sources with Boyd Matheson,’ Opinion Editor at Deseret News, takes you inside the latest political news and current events, providing higher ground for today's discussions.
