In this week's show, we talk about the#CountMeIn movement with campaign director Mike Hellstorm. This movement, led by unionized and non-unionized construction workers from the Hudson Yards development, marks its one-year anniversary this month. In the second half of our show, we go over the upcoming trial of three activists from the group Resist Spectra that briefly halted construction of an Enbridge fracked gas pipeline through direct action in 2016. The three individuals who crawled into the pipeline will present the Necessity Defense claiming that their ‘illegal’ actions were necessary to prevent a greater harm. We talk to their lawyer, David Dorfman. To learn more about The Indypendent go to https://bit.ly/2bTNnpb
