She is running for Lt. Gov. in the June 28 Democratic primary with NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams who is running for Governor.\\n\\nThe Lt. Governor\\u2019s race was blown wide open last week when now-former Lt. Gov Brian Benjamin resigned following his indictment on federal corruption charges. Under New York election law, there\\u2019s only a slim chance that Gov. Kathy Hochul can have Benjamin removed from the ballot and replaced with someone more to her liking. This unexpected turn of events has brought a surge of endorsements to Archila in the past week and greatly increased the chances of an unabashedly left candidate winning statewide office in New York for the first time in decades, if ever.\\n__________\\nNerdeen Kiswani is a is the founder and chair of the NYC-based group, Within Our Lifetime - United for Palestine, a community organization revitalizing the revolutionary spirit of the Palestinians in exile in pursuit of liberation.
