b'Prakash Churaman, who was 15 at the time, was snatched from his home by the NYPD and bullied into making a false murder confession. He would spend 4 years on Rikers awaiting a trial while his peers went to high school and looked to begin building their adult lives. Churaman was convicted and then saw the conviction overturned on appeal but was forced to live under virtual house arrest with an ankle monitor that tracked his every move.. The Queens DA\\u2019s office was planning to retry Prakash in the hopes of sending him away to prison for life. But as his case grew greater public scrutiny, it began to collapse. Yesterday, at a routine pre-trial hearing, Queens prosecutors dropped all charges in the case to the astonishment of Prakash and his supporters.'
