b"In North Brooklyn, National Grid has begun construction on a controversial new liquid natural gas pipeline which would bring highly volatile fracked gas from Pennsylvania to New York. Its opponents see the $185 million project as both a public health hazard and bad energy policy as it would further lock the city into a dependence on natural gas for decades to come instead of speeding up a transition to 100% renewable energy. Residents\\u2019 opposition has temporarily stopped construction of Phase 5 of the pipeline, but National Grid has not given up on those projects. The pipeline's opposition just began a strike campaign encouraging NYers to withhold $66 from their gas bills. Lee Ziesche of Sane Energy Project, a major player in the opposition, speaks about the current status of the pipeline."
