b'Debt-stricken taxi drivers have entered their 17th day of a round-the-clock protest outside City Hall. They are demanding the mayor and city council cover the massive debts they incurred when the price of a taxi medallion collapsed after the City allowed Uber and Lyft to flood the streets with their own drivers who did not have to pay for medallions. We speak with Bhairavi Desai of the New York Taxi Workers Alliance about how the city reaped hundreds of millions of dollars in taxi medallion sales a decade ago but has since turned its back on cab drivers, many of whom owe upwards of a half-million dollars each.'
