17: Raja Sekhar | Does the East India Company Still Exist? Exposing today's Mega-Corporations, their Colonial origins and their Continuing Agendas

Published: April 5, 2019, 4 a.m.

The power of mega-corporations like Google, Facebook, Amazon, Monsanto, Pfizer, ExxonMobil, and is looked on with a mixture of admiration, awe and fear.

They are bigger than many governments in the world, and often affect the direction of world history itself. They control our lives in so many countless ways, we don't even know.

However, despite their size, none of these are the biggest or most powerful corporation in history. That distinction goes to the East India Company, which existed from 1600-1858, 258 years.

Imagine a company with the influence of Google or Amazon, granted a state-sanctioned monopoly and the right to levy taxes abroad – and with MI6 or CIA and the army at its disposal.

At its height, it has been estimated that 1 in 4 of every transaction in the world was directly connected to the East India Company in some way.

It was THEY who colonised India, not the British Government.

They waged wars and controlled territory not only in India, but also other parts of Asia and Africa. That is, until in 1857, when its Indian soldiers rebelled against it and destroyed the Company in a brutal war.

That destruction, it turns out, however, was mainly in name, and formally.

My guest on today's podcast is Raja Sekhar, Founder and Editor of Great Game India Magazine, out of India and available online.

GreatGameIndia is a quarterly magazine on international affairs providing global intelligence through strategic analysis by placing events in a geopolitical and historical framework to better understand international developments and the world around us. GreatGameIndia is a group of physicists, computer professionals, management experts, business analysts, geopolitical strategists and others who from their backgrounds developed a systematic research methodology and study process to understand and unearth time hidden documented historical events and enhance everybody's understanding.

It is one of the most innovative and important journals in the world in my opinion.

Not only do they uncover the connection between the families that owned the East India Company and the most powerful multinational companies since then, including today,

they also show how these same companies continue their extraordinary pillaging, looting and scheming to systematically extract the enormous wealth of India, in particular, and other developing countries as well.

Listen to this fascinating interview, like and share widely.
