Welcome, this week's guest Loralyn Mears!

Loralyn has always been curious. As a PhD scientist, she's investigated interesting theories on how to destroy mosquitoes, then engaged in a career around market research probing people on the 5 Ws. Finally, late in life, she realized a childhood dream and became an author and a journalist asking questions until she found answers. That led her down the path of founding STEERus, home of the world's first Soft Skills Academy. She founded this HRtech to train Generation Next on the critical soft skills that they're not learning in school to close the gap between education and work. Links below!

Loralyn starts out with sharing her story, which many can relate to, of going to college for what her parents wanted her to do instead of what she wanted to do. Years later she finally had had enough of doing what she didn't like that she made a change and we talk about what that and other changes were and how they've helped her to live a more fulfilling life. We talk a lot about soft skills as that's where she's dedicated her focus and we share many, many nuggets throughout the episode. I share a little bit about how to choose between different costs of things now and later and tie it into sharing my 42nd Vision Board success (which was probably the biggest one I've ever had!). We share a few more thoughts about driving your life and wrap this one up.

In this season I'm talking with my guests about their story and how they've been able to "rewrite their stars" in their own life. Then after they've shared their story we transition into talking about vision boards for a little bit and I share one of the successes that I've had. Again, why I'm sharing my successes with you is to show that you can do the same thing, to use a vision board yourself and that you can rewrite your stars in your own life.
