Day in the Life of a Pro in Portugual- Guillerme Machado Ep. 18

My brother Guilherme Machado came on the Pod a couple of days ago. It was fantastic to hear his journey. Definitely, one of the most inspiring ones I have heard. He was born in Brazil, and started playing Futsal at the age of 6 years old. That's right, the football that is played on a small pitch that is very high paced, and excellent for your touch, and playing at speed.

At the age of 17, he got a chance to come to the USA, and play at Limerick College. Without much hesitation, he took the risk! That was the first time he started playing football on an outdoor pitch. After a tough freshman season, and not playing much, his coach began to question himself, and actually asked G "why did I even bring you in?" Even though G wasn't too happy about this comment, this lit a fire under him and started his journey to becoming a professional football player.

He is now 23 years old, playing professionally in the third division of Portugual. After undergoing ACL surgery, and injury problems, he would sometimes question himself, but no matter what, he kept on going, and look where he is now. This is just the beginning Ladies & Gents.

In this episode, we also talk about: -The importance of networking, and building real, meaningful relationships. -The importance of believing in yourself no matter what! -How to contact agents, and get your opportunity. -The importance of nutrition.
