Less Reactive
Morning Mantra: "You can spend your whole life trying to avoid people who push your buttons. Or you can get to a place where you don't have any buttons to be pushed."
But before we get to that place, we first need to acknowledge that we still have work to do and that those people (rude clerks, incompetent waiters, aggressive drivers, inconsiderate neighbors) are our greatest teachers. They show us WHERE our work lies.
We get the teachers we need, when we need them. And we keep getting them until we have learned the lessons.
So instead of trying to avoid situations or people that turn you into someone you'd rather not be, see those as opportunities for self-reflection, and offer gratitude for the teachers.
