Reuben Mayes, the 6-foot, 208-pound junior from North Battleford, Saskatchewan, rushed for 216 yards in a game where the Cougars scored a whirlwind of 35 points in just 15:14 seconds of game time, and then Mayes topped that achievement the next week as he set an NCAA rushing record of 357 yards and in doing so, set another NCAA record, rushing yards in consecutive games, 573 yards.
