NIMBY - Not In My Back Yard

The world famous Blommer chocolate factory in Chicago caught fire last week. At the time of recording, it was unknown if millions of children in the Midwest would receive chocolate kisses or coal in their fireplace Christmas socks. (Real News) Some people who chose to live near Blommers would be thrilled to have this neighborhood icon reduced to rubble because they live in a NIMBY world. Do you believe that the citizens of a neighborhood should have the power, by majority vote, to force a free market business to relocate or should only the government have the invisible power to tilt the scales against a neighborhood job creator like Blommers?
