Episode 471: ‘Bout It

Part One: Fire Tornadoes and Double Hurricanes

Jack, Fro, and Nate presenting this episode of Hardly Focused! Fro is in-studio with Jack, while Nate remotes in from parts unknown. This is the second time since the pandemic began, that Jack has an in-person co-host!

If 2020 hasn’t been bad enough, America now has to worry about fire tornadoes. Moreover, 2 hurricanes are projected to hit the same region – at the same time. This leads Jack to ponder the perfect premise for a Twister sequel, involving fire.

Meanwhile, Jack Sherman – former guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers – has passed on. For the unaware, Sherman features on RHCP’s first album. Godspeed, sir!

Part Two: All Gas No Brakes at Talladega Superspeedway

Jack and company provide running commentary on another great entry from All Gas No Brakes. Host Andrew Callaghan interviews attendees at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Like the AVN Expo – audio goldmine.

Fun fact – Google Chrome attempts to auto-correct “Talladega” to “Gallbladder.” That makes sense – as much sense as watching cars race in circles for hours at a time.

Part Three: Coheed and Cambria’s Sequel to “Jessie’s Girl”

2020 has brought us some weird things. Add this to the list; Coheed and Cambria wrote a sequel to a song they did not initially record. Teaming up with Rick Springfield, Coheed presents “Jessie’s Girl 2,” with a cool music video to boot.

Elsewhere, a meth’d up fellow in Kentucky attempts to sell a 4-year-old boy at his local gas station. Should have gone to Mississippi, right Principal Skinner? “Boy for sale!”
