STORY 6: Ossoff-sponsored bill supporting military spouses becomes law

\\n

U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff\'s bipartisan Military Spouse Career Support Act of 2023 has become law. The bill aims to aid military spouses\' careers by extending reimbursement for licensure and business costs to spouses of servicemembers transitioning to the reserve component. Current policies only provide reimbursements for relocations between active-duty assignments, not when moving between active and reserve assignments. The legislation intends to alleviate the financial burden military families, especially spouses, face during relocations. Ossoff\'s previous bipartisan effort, the Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act, was enacted last year to enhance job flexibility for military spouses by ensuring recognition of professional licenses across states.
