Talking clubroot with Dan and Scott

Published: March 31, 2015, 5:45 p.m.

Canola Council agronomist Dan Orchard and central Alberta farmer Scott Keller join host Dean Thorpe in studio for a discussion on clubroot and an update on clubroot resistance. EDITORIAL NOTE: Clubroot is not really mutating (as stated in the introduction). The pathogen in a field, with high spore loads, will consist of many different pathotypes or stains. How many, we don't know. But it appears that there will be some pathotypes there that resistance does not work against. It is these pathotypes that will be able increase when resistant varieties are used.
