This episode of Gritty Bowmen is coming at you from Whale Pass  on Prince of Wales Island in South East Alaska. Our guest is our friend Ken Brough. Ken is a quiet unassuming guy, but if you spend a little time with him you quickly realize there's more to this man than meets the eye. He’s an accountant by trade but an adventurer at heart. He’s been to some of the most remote areas of Alaska. He’s hunted brown bear, caribou, goat, and sheep to Sitka blacktail and big coastal black bears that Prince of Wales if famous for. A couple years ago Ken quit his accounting practice  and started a hunting outfit in whale pass on the island. He calls his outfit Prince of Wales Eagle Lodge. We purchased lodging at his place for two weeks. Ken caters to the DIY hunters who want to do everything on their own, as well as those who wish to be catered to. He basically set us up with a  place to sleep, a car to drive and a skiff to cruise the ocean shores with. On this episode we learn more about Ken. The enigmatic accountant/bush pilot. He tells us a few good stories about his adventures and the harrowing adventures of others who have explored Alaska’s wild frontier. Ken shares his knowledge about bears and about POW island and he talks about what drew him to the island. We talk bout the difficulty of judging the bears and the best time to fish the island. It’s good stuff. I hope you enjoy hanging out with this quiet unassuming man as much as we did. If you’re planning a trip to POW island give Ken and his lodge a look.
