Akshay Gunteti joined me on the podcast to discuss the role of dignified jobs, education and awareness in waste management. We talked about the current state of waste management in India as well as the challenges it comes with. And how educating and empowering the youth can help to improve sustainable waste management in India and around the world.
Akshay is an Environmentalist and a Social Entrepreneur. He has 5 years of experience in scouting and handholding grassroots level innovators and early-stage Startups. He has started AccelerateSD Foundation, which worked particularly towards youth-led Climate Action programs. This organization was later acquired-hired by Green Worms and through the same, Akshay got on board with the leadership team, currently, he is working as Head of Partnerships at Green Worms Waste Management Company. He is actively involved in youth engagement programs related to Climate Action, Leadership development & Community building. Recently he has embarked on a journey to become an Author and writing his first book, COVID-19 Leadership.
Green Worms is a social impact-oriented waste management organization where their goal is to protect regions more vulnerable to climate change, particularly the coastal regions through sustainable solid waste management practices with more emphasis on mitigation of oceanic plastic pollution. To achieve this end, we collaborate with government bodies, local communities and business firms, strictly adhering to our vision
