This is a bonus chat with Jan Kaprhál joined Michael Rada on the Green Living Chats podcast. We had an interesting discussion on how we can improve recycling and upcycling in the packaging industry.  This is part of our new segment, the Industry 5.0 segment, where we have discussions with industrial players to brainstorm and share ideas on how to prevent waste generation, promote and support sustainable production. In this episode we talked about what recycling really means, the role of the industry, consumers/client and the government in enhancing recycling as well as alternatives the industry can adopt from the Smurfit Kappa model.

Jan is the Innovation & Marketing Manager CZ/SK of Smurfit Kappa. Smurfit Kappa is an FTSE 100 company and one of the leading providers of paper-based packaging in the world, with operations in 23 European countries and 12 countries in the Americas. They have set out targets to strengthen their sustainable business practices. Their circular business model helps to embed sustainability in every fibre.
