It’s a Friday edition of GCR, the O’s stay hot and end up winning the series vs Toronto last night behind 8 outstanding innings from Kyle Gibson as the Orioles win the season series against the Jays 10-3. Plus we’ll prepare for the opening weekend of college football, Week 0, that begins with Navy and Notre Dame from Dublin tomorrow afternoon. At 10:20am, we will check-in with Bo Smolka, PressBox’s Ravens beat writer, before the final of the Ravens three preseason games tomorrow night in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers, he’ll tell us everything that we should be watching for on Saturday. At 10:45am, we will chat with cyclist John Kelly who is the Chairman of the upcoming Maryland Cycling Classic on September 3. At 11am, we will have a chance to meet one of the newest Orioles, Jacob Webb, as we talk to him about the wild journey he’s had in 2023 from being DFA’d by the Angels to being picked up by the Orioles and cementing himself in the bullpen immediately upon his arrival. Also in the second hour, it’s that time of year again, Ken Zalis will swing by the studio for our first week of Football Picks as we make our selections for the Week 0 games including Navy-Notre Dame in Dublin as we discuss this season’s punishment for the loser.
