b"RockerMike and Rob discuss the history of Generation X.
Although not as well as known as some of their peers (the Clash, the Sex Pistols, the Damned, etc.), first wave U.K. punk rockers Generation X burst onto the scene at the same time as the others. And while they enjoyed some moderate success in their homeland, Generation X would become better-known as the launching pad for their singer, Billy Idol, who would go on to achieve great commercial success come the '80s. Originally formed in 1976, Generation X (which was named after a book that focused on battles between the Mods and the Rockers during the '60s) was comprised of guitarist Bob Andrews, bassist Tony James, drummer Mark Laff, and fronted by Idol. The group was eventually signed up by Chrysalis Records, resulting in a self-titled debut album in 1978 (the U.S. and U.K. versions contained different track listings), as Generation X became one of the first punk bands to appear on the popular British TV music program Top of the Pops.

Generation X were an English punk rock band from London in the late 1970s, primarily remembered today for being the musical starting point of the career of its frontman/vocalist, Billy Idol.
Origin: Chelsea, London, United Kingdom (1976)
Members: Billy Idol, Tony James, Mark Laff, Bob Andrews, James Stevenson, Terry Chimes, John Towe
Genres: Punk rock, Pop-punk, New wave

https://billyidol.net/generation-x/

https://open.spotify.com/artist/1inWec2E2UgfzMAhwjgTXe

https://www.iheart.com/artist/generation-x-28372/

Amazon.com › Generation-XGeneration X - Generation X - Amazon.com Music

https://music.apple.com/us/artist/generation-x/13796412

Facebook › ... › Musician/BandGeneration X - '70s UK Punk Band - Home | Facebook

YouTube › watchWeb resultsGeneration X - Your Generation (1977) - YouTube

#british #generationxband #generationx #punkrockers #punk #punkrock #punkfashion #punkgirl #punkrockmusic #1977punkrock #musically #music #musicvideo #musician #musiclover #musiclife #musicislife #billyidol #billyidolforever #billyidolconcert #billyidollive #billyidoltribute #billyidol4rnrhof

Please follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.com

Get your T-shirt at www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedup
And
https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/

Subscribe to the Youtube channel
Hit the like button

--- This episode is sponsored by \\xb7 Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support"
