Celebrating Symbolic Victories Rather than Substance

All across the world, including here in the United States, statutes of slave traders, confederate generals, and other historical racists have been removed from public space. Some have been removed by random protestors, a few have been sanctioned by the local government. However, does this provide true victory for African-Americans? We need Substance!
