What Hard Work Looks Like When It’s Paying Off

Massive growth is often subtle and layered. When we are breaking through to the other side of any challenge or goal, it often looks a lot like a grind where you only perceive the gains in retrospect.

Showing up to do things and keeping commitments to myself and others impacts the way I see myself and my energy has been greatly improved through the process.

Having outside eyes to show me how to do things that are blind spots for me has been so helpful.

Derailment and unexpected interruptions are going to happen. How we deal with it determines how we experience the future. I had to get past the barrier of believing I only had one option when things got hard.

Growth does weird exponential things. It’s why we see other people succeeding and assume it’s always been that good for them, but out the gate progress generally looks like a flatline or backsliding down a ravine. It’s only later when momentum kicks up that we see that 10X growth. But it can only happen when we keep showing up.

It’s the difference between knowing who you are vs just hoping that’s who you are. We have to teach ourselves this distinction.

Treading water builds up experience and shows you what’s working, what isn’t, and what is getting you the results that you want. It gives you time to direct that energy and learn how to direct it well so that you get what you want.

May your coming year be filled with growth, progress, and massive wins!
