Preparations have begun for the 2020 Census. As part of that effort, The Poynter Institute along with its sponsors hosted a conference, "Covering the 2020 Census," June 3 and 4 in Detroit. About 40 journalists from across Michigan, including Paula Wethington from The Monroe News, attended the workshop. This podcast is an interview with one of the speakers, Margo Anderson of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, on her specialty of the history of the Census. Her book is "The American Census - A Social History."
