Tom “Bull” Hill is a retired firefighter who is well known in the state of Florida and around the country for “The March of the Bull.” His march from the Zero Mile Marker in Key West, Florida to Tallahassee (Florida’s capital) served so many purposes and helped so many people beyond what is known to the public. Bull and I talk about many different topics: firefighter cancer, PTSD, substance abuse, sexual abuse, and he tells some touching stories about his life and lives that have impacted his. He tells me how “The March” began as him keeping a promise to a brother firefighter and its connection to “The Trail of Tears.” He is one of the toughest firefighters I have ever known with a tolerance for pain that is unimaginable, yet he is one of the most humble, kindest, and generous people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I am proud to call him my friend and my brother.
