Mike "Hoppy" Hopkins retired from Orange County Sheriff\'s Office with more than 30 years in law enforcement. Much of his career was spent working in or leading the EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) Team, the Clandestine Lab Team, Dive Team, and undercover narcotics. Hoppy shares with me about his childhood growing up in south Florida, playing sports, diving, boating, and fishing. Ultimately, he became a law enforcement officer for Miami Dade where he experienced first hand the devastation caused by Hurricane Andrew while on duty. He talks about his leadership philosophy and the people throughout his career who influenced him. Hoppy gives a firsthand account of the Pulse Nightclub Massacre and his operational role that horrific morning. Along with sharing many of his memories from his time in law enforcement, he gives a candid account of his experience with PTSD.
