12thEpisode - GW25 - Baines on Toast – a bitter taste

Published: Feb. 4, 2016, midnight

The twelfth episode of the Fantasy Football Podcast allows the Surgery pundits to discuss the new signings from the January Transfer window, providing stats and arguments for the players that with a new lease of life in the top flight may feature within your FPL squads. We’re suffering with the blues after GW24 and the focus is placed on Everton’s performance against Newcastle. The Toffee’s decisive 3-0 victory feels like a defeat for the majority of the panel and the all too familiar feeling of FPL anger is vented towards Roberto Martinez. Much to the disgust of managers throughout the FPL community the Spaniards starting 11 didn’t include the £6.2m valued left back, leaving a pricey forward thinking points scorer stuck on the substitutes bench. There is however a little smile peering through the ginger hair as the Beard attempts to lift the spirits of his fellow pundits by reminding them of Barkley’s 16 point haul, as he avoids the bitter taste of Baines on toast. Bully and the Iceman are pro Arsenal as the Gunners prepare to visit Dean Court. In reaction Woodsy reminds them of their -1 goal difference and failure to score over the previous three game weeks. It becomes noticeably obvious that Woodsy is swayed by the usual statistical analysis provided by the Iceman and makes a full u-turn coming into the Captains Choice. The controversy continues as the Iceman and Manchester United fan Brookie suggest the inclusion of United players within your squads. Brookie doesn’t stop there and bursts into a Manu tide turning promise that the Red Devils are only seeing green arrows from this point onwards….the beard has clearly grown into his brain. The usual FPL discussions, suggestions and stats brought to you alongside the odd amusing exchange, also featuring Woodsy chomping on humble pie, Vardy vs Alli, pending double game weeks and much much more….
