You may not be familiar with the name Edward Gorey, but the work of this 20th century artist and author is legendary.\\xa0 Gorey lived in New York City in the 1950\\u2019s and 1960s where he illustrated works like Dracula by Bram Stoker, The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells, and Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. That book was later turned into the Broadway Musical \\u201cCats,\\u201d one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history.\\xa0 Gorey was also well-known for his animated introduction to the PBS series Mystery!\\xa0 He also won a Tony Award for his designs in the Broadway production of Dracula. \\xa0Later, Gorey retired as a \\u201creluctant recluse,\\u201d according to Fordham Professor Travis Russ.\\xa0 He is the founding member of \\u201cThe Life Jacket Theatre Company,\\u201d which is bringing Gorey\\u2019s legendary life to the stage.
