The latest iteration of CARP’s LTC campaign asks a very good question: Premier Doug Ford promised and actually did crack down on big box stores breaking the rules last weekend. It happened swiftly once they decided to do it. That seems to be in stark contrast to what happens when nursing homes are in violation. We’ve seen inspectors’ reports ignored and the homes themselves complain that when they really need help it takes too long because the bureaucracy kicks in dotting i’s and dotting t’s instead of reacting on an emergency basis.
