Exactly How to Grieve Guru Jagat 2021

Published: Aug. 3, 2021, 8:03 p.m.

Hi everyone,

I made this because it didn’t take long for me to realize I was experiencing Guru Jagat’s death alone and afar. And it was hurting a lot more than I expected.

Guru Jagat and I never met, and hardly talked. Attempting to explain her significance to people who didn’t know that all those times I was on the computer I was listening to her, learning for her, rooting loudly for her.

There’s no greater pain than suffering alone. When your family doesn’t understand, your roommates or boss doesn’t understand, your partner doesn’t understand it feels like you’re the only one this happened to; even though intellectually you know that’s not true.

The thing is, no one will understand - ever. I don’t understand! I certainly don’t understand what you’re going through and how could I. What I do know, as a teacher and student for many many lifetimes, is that grief can be solved like anything else can be solved. There is a science to it. You will be transformed by this video. This science has a way of returning even the most ruined of relationships (not the case here) back to their original state. Pure love. The love a student has for a teacher is matched only by the love the teacher has for the student. The universal student. Guru Jagat gave me the chance to feel the love. Every other feeling incurred is my responsibility.

Undertaking this process is not saying goodbye to Guru Jagat, it’s saying goodbye to the pain her sudden death has caused you. This pain is reminding you of other times you’ve felt this way, and you are cracked open whether you like it or not.

Sometimes life happens all at once, and ends all at once. Time is just a default setting; after all.

If you’ve been unable to put your broken heart back together for long enough to do the things you really must do, taking an hour to do this will help. Please bring a pen and a paper.

There is a grief call that all tiers can attend on Thursday. I’ll be holding space for all the letters, privately: everestasher.com/thebrujareport
