A known hitman went missing on his way to meet one of Sydney\\u2019s most notorious crime bosses. For a while before his disappearance, Chris Flannery, also known as Mr Rent-a-Kill, had been out of control, shooting anyone who angered him. He threatened that if anyone tried to eliminate him, he\\u2019d go to the police and tell them everything he knew. This posed a tremendous threat to organised crime groups, as well as corrupt police officers. On the morning of Thursday, 9th May 1985, 36-year-old Chris Flannery left his apartment building in the heart of Sydney\\u2019s CBD and was never seen or heard from again.
