He then went to World Class Championship Wrestling in mid-1986. He joined WWF (knoiwn as WWE now) in May of 1987 and left the company in 1988 to go to Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW (World Championship Wrestling) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. One of his most known nicknames he had was "The Beast from the East", he was from Asbury Park, New Jersey. He went back to WWF in 1992.
