How To Forgive Someone

b'When someone wrongs you, your first thought is you will never be able to move past what they did. Well, it\\u2019s very common to feel that way. However, you not being able to forgive that person or those people, can harm you the most. Forgiveness is challenging, because it often times is misunderstood. You might think that forgiving someone means forgetting what did or didn\\u2019t do, forgetting what they said or didn\\u2019t say. You may even think forgiving that person, says that what they did wasn\\u2019t a big deal to you. You may also think that by forgiving that person, means you can just go back to the way things were and that\\u2019s not always true.\\xa0\\n\\nForgiveness simply means choosing to let go of your anger, hurt, hatred or your desire for vengeance. Now you can simply accept that what happened to you, is in the past and nothing you do can or will change it. So, if you think you are ready to forgive someone or some people and you don\\u2019t know where to start, you have come to the right place.\\nYou may be asking yourself, why should I bother to forgive that person? Many people think that by forgiving someone, you are making things better for them. You may also think that they wronged you and now they are getting off the hook, just like that. However, when you forgive someone, you are really helping yourself. How you may be asking? Well, by forgiving someone that hurt you, it allows you heal by finding peace. Forgiveness closes those open doors and heals old wounds.\\n\\nOnce you feel ready to forgive, you can take a few additional steps to make sure you\\u2019re ready:\\n(1). Talk through your feelings.\\n(2). Find the bright side.\\n(3). Forgive yourself.\\n\\nHere are some tips that can help you act on your decision to forgive:\\n\\n(1). Write a letter.\\n(2). Work toward your own happiness.\\n\\nReminder: You have to accept the fact, that you may never get that explanation or an apology. When you allow bitterness and resentment to hold you in the palm of its hands, you only give it power.\\n\\nReminder: Forgiveness might seem difficult to practice, but it\\u2019s a skill we can all develop. I know it seems unfair that you are required to be the bigger person; seeing as how they hurt you.
