Eric Rosengren has been president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston since July 2007 and is currently a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee.
\\nPreviously he headed the Bank's supervision, regulation, and credit group, and was active in domestic and international regulatory policy. Rosengren joined the Bank in 1985 as an economist in the research department, with a B.A. from Colby College and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
\\nHe has written extensively on macroeconomics, international banking, bank supervision, and risk management; including articles in leading economics and finance journals. Much of his recent research has focused on how problems in the financial sector impact the real economy.
\\nRosengren is a director of the United Way, a trustee of Colby College, and a member of advisory boards at Colby College and the University of Wisconsin.
