The Deion Sanders of Executives

Published: Sept. 4, 2020, 10 a.m.

A day late but certainly not a buck short. Dave and Mike talk about the Leonard Fournette news and what it means for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield.  You'll hear it plenty on other podcasts but they aren't going into the long term of Ronald Jones and Ke'Shawn Vaughn like we do. After that, we get to the meat of the podcast, an interview with Daniel Adler. Daniel is the assistant general manager of the Minnesota Twins and previously the Jacksonville Jaguars Director of Football Research. We discuss how good are people who get paid to do this as a job are at managing fantasy teams.  Does he set out to find the data that proves his point or disproves his point? How often does he go with his gut if it says otherwise? When building a team do you want the best player or the best deal? Is a pick more valuable than a player? In a snake is it preferable to get the last guy in a tier to come back around earlier? If a prospect struggles but finally shows flashes, is it luck or potential realized? Why can some guys wash a stink off themselves so easily and others can't? If you ever wanted to hear someone whos built a real team talk about building a fantasy team this is the place.
