Despite my best efforts, I also dropped out. \\n\\nI knew when I had my son that I was not going to pass this horrible fate to my son.\\n\\nWhen he began elementary school I knew in my heart that the only way to break the pattern was to lead by example and support him as best I could.\\n\\nI finally graduated in 2015 (19 years after grad) and my son graduated earlier this year.\\n\\nI broke the cycle.
