In the height of the crack era his parents decided to send him to a nearby Catholic high school to help shelter him from the crime and violence surrounding them.\\n\\n\\nOn his first day at St. Raymond H.S. he expected to try-out for the baseball team. However, he was a month late and was quickly directed toward basketball tryouts. From there fate, hard work and boundless dedication led him to become a city wide standout on a stacked St. Raymond squad.
