Hi! I’m Rachelle Mone’t I was born and raised in NY, and I currently live in NC. I have been writing poetry since age 11 when my 5th grade teacher challenged us to write a Haiku! Ever since then I realized that writing poetry was something that I really loved Throughout my life poetry has served as one of the outlets for me to express my feelings and sort out the matters of the heart. I never thought I would be writing songs, but here I am by God’s grace! In March of 2020, I dreamed of a beautiful song. Just like the times prior, when I awoke from the dream, I didn’t remember the song. Only this time, I prayed and asked God to help me to remember. That afternoon I took a nap and dreamed of the song again. For the first time when I woke up, I remembered the song! This is when I believe my gift of songwriting was birthed. Shortly after, I became very sick. The doctors began testing me for end stage cancer. I was rapidly losing weight and in a lot of pain. In the midst of testing for cancer. I got Covid. Having Covid was one of the worst experiences of my life. I thank God, He healed me of Covid! Also, my final test (a biopsy) came back negative for cancer. Glory to God! A few weeks later I began writing songs. “A kiss on Angel wings “will be my first song released. I wrote this song about my dad who is in heaven. The song comes from a poem that I wrote in honor of my dad on Father’s Day a few years ago. The poem is also titled “A kiss on Angel Wings” and it is in my recently published book titled “Move Forward “Collection of Poems.
