b'Chicago-based vocalist/songwriter Jan James will released her 11th full length album, Justify, on March 6, 2020 via Blue Palace Records. The 12-tracks are a confident display of the heart-centered artistry that\'s been the backbone of Jan\'s work since the \'90s. The album opens with an accessible, upbeat love song, "I\'m Always Coming Back," before launching into the title track and first single, "Justify" where Jan\'s uniquely emotional vocal quality enmeshed with guitarist Craig Calvert\'s exceptional guitar work. Jan has always used her music to support causes near and dear to her heart. On this album, the Aretha Franklin-inspired gospel ballad "Try" was written in response to the suicide crisis, which claimed the life of a former bandmate. "The amount of people hurting out there is astounding. I wanted to give them a message of love." With a message of connection, she wrote "Good Man Down" while mortified by the current administration\'s treatment of immigrants in America. After decades of including the fan favorite in live sets, Jan finally recorded her sassy but reverent version of the Rolling Stones classic, "Honky Tonk Woman." "Though many of the elements from our debut album, Last Train, still flow through our music, our songwriting has evolved. I consider Justify to be very personal. We created a collection that should make you move, have some hope and most importantly have some fun," said Jan.\\n\\nSupport this podcast at \\u2014 https://redcircle.com/dr-ds-social-network/donations\\n\\nAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands\\n\\nPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy\\n\\n--- \\n\\nSend in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/darian-parker/message'
