Being white in America means being the least qualified person in the room but having the most prestigious-and most senior position. Positions that Blacks and people of color have to be routinely over- qualified and supremely educated for. Ms. Barrett has only two years experience in private practice, has never tried a case nor argued an appeal, and only became a judge for the first time in 2017. A Black woman or a woman of color in Ma. Barrett’s position would have to have twice the qualifications just to secure a position of senior partner at large law firm.
