Black women are starting businesses at the fastest rate of any social group. Since 2007, the number of companies owned by African-American women has grown by an astonishing 164%. Nearly half of women owned business in the country (44%) are controlled by minority women. Minority women are still being locked out when it comes to accessing capital. Data from the Federal Reserve shows Black Women are more likely than whites to not access credit.
