50: Jazz, Politics and a Hip-hop debate with guitarist Theo Curtin

Boston's Theo Curtin has played in the Newport Jazz Festival, alongside the Boston Symphony Orchestra and has received numerous awards for his jazz guitar abilities before the age of 20.  We dive into his love, life and journey through music from Beatles fan to rock guitarist and his transition to jazz. Various influences from John Lennon through Emerson, Lake and Palmer then eventually the likes of Miles Davis and Charlie Parker inspired him to reach a high level of improvisation with an ear beyond his years.  He talked about Jazz' issues with audience today, then debated whether or not hip-hop is trash for its lack of melody.
