SINNERS WELCOME - A Case of Them and Us or Simply Bad Marketing?

Show Summary

A number of years ago I was on my way to lunch with clients, when my eyes were drawn to a sign a local church had placed outside its building. It read "sinners welcome." Initially I was angered, but upon further reflection, I correctly gave the church and it's leadership the benefit of the doubt, assuming they weren't professing themselves to be uniquely empowered to judge between so-called "saints and sinners." To do so, I would be no better than those who espouse that posture. Rather, I chalked it up to bad marketing in their outreach to attract new congregants.

Key Topics:

  • What is one important way the heads of many faiths are overlooking in their service to their congregants and therefore, are holding them back from becoming the best version of themselves?
  • How is it that some houses of faith continue to attract more of the very challenges they would desire less of, to the detriment of all?
  • Whether a house of faith or any environment views you as half-empty or half-full, speaks volumes as to where you ought to be investing your valuable and limited time!
